Nemesis is a nine member ensemble based in the Windsor / Essex County area, and has been performing for close to 40 years now. Nemesis performs a wide variety of music, including classic rock, oldies, blues, soul, funk, and new age and hip-hop tunes. The repertoire is vast and diverse having the benefit of a three piece horn section, several male vocalists, and a female vocalist.

The three original members of the band are Bob Gabriele (keyboards/vocals), Tony Masciotra (Bass/vocals), and Walt Jakob (Percussion/vocals), all of whom were ironically born within one week of each other in the same local hospital in Leamington, Ontario, and who as classmates in public school, got together to form “Nemesis” to play at their grade 8 graduation. Some 20 years ago, a horn section and female vocalist were integrated into the band, enhancing an already large sounding tight group that was immensely popular in the Windsor and Southwestern Ontario region.

The horn section is comprised of seasoned musicians who each have impressive music credentials and achievements. Corey Fitzpatrick (Trombone) holds the second trombone chair with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra; Andrew Wasilewski (Saxophones) holds international music degrees and has performed and recorded internationally with several famous and professional artists.

The band also has an exceptional guitar players in John (JD) Drew. JD’s background is in jazz and funk, and he has performed with several popular groups in the Michigan and Ontario areas, and he has recorded several records which have gained critical acclaim. JD is also much in demand with other musical groups for recording sessions and live performances when their schedule with Nemesis permits.

This past year, one of the former members, Suzi Marsh, returned to the stage with Nemesis, after many years of touring in the United States, as well as internationally. Suzi originally performed with Nemesis in the 80's before pursuing a solo and touring career. Originally from the Windsor-Detroit area, Suzi is now raising a young family and staying closer to home, and has therefore been able to rejoin the band, giving it another diverse feature with her strong and energetic vocals and stage presence.

Nemesis performs at a wide variety of venus and typically can be found on the summer circuit of festivals, such as the International Freedom Festival, Epicure Festival, Shores of Erie Wine Fest, TomatoFest, CornFest, Strawberry Festival, etc., etcl. Nemesis has headlined several concerts in the Southwestern Ontario area, and has also opened for several touring acts, including Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Chuck Negron & 3-Dog Night, and the Rankin Family, just to mention a few. Nemesis also performs at corporate functions and private parties.

Nemesis has also recorded an album entitled ‘Wingin It”, which is available on CD. A sampling can be heard by clicking here.

Nemesis looks forward to rockin with you in the very near future.
